2010
The June edition of Advantage Steel (No. 37), a magazine published by the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, ran a feature article on the Yankee Stadium project.

In April, a topping-out ceremony was held at the Kaiser Permanente Westside Medical Center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

In March, Skanska USA Building, in conjunction with Skanska Koch, presented Canam Group with the 2009 Supplier of Choice Award in recognition of the excellent work executed by the Structal-Heavy Steel Construction team during the construction of New Meadowlands Stadium, the new home of the NY Giants and the NY Jets. This marks the first time that Skanska USA Building has ever presented the award to a structural steel contractor.

In February, a topping-out ceremony was held at the Pendleton Round-Up project in Oregon.

2009
In December, New York Construction magazine’s Best Projects of 2009 Awards jury selected the high-profile Yankee Stadium project as Overall Project of the Year. In addition, Citi Field, home to the New York Mets, won Project of the Year: Sports/Recreation.

In November, CISC-Quebec announced the recipients of the 2009 Quebec Steel Design Awards, and the Yankee Stadium project earned Honorable Mention in the “Projects Outside Quebec” category.

On October 28, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction has received a letter of intent regarding a contract worth more than $100 million for the construction of the world’s largest cable-supported retractable roof, in replacement of the air-supported dome on the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

The ceremony held on August 28 at Edmonton Clinic North marked the installation of the final beam supplied by Structal-Heavy Steel Construction.

The topping off ceremony held on August 14 commemorated the final structural steel beam to be put into place at the new Consol Energy Center, the future home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

On August 4, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction wins a contract worth close to CA$60 million for the construction of the retractable roof of the new Marlins ballpark in Florida.

In March, Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine recently announced the winners of its annual Best of the Best Awards, which recognizes construction and design excellence in projects across the U.S. The Newseum, an interactive museum dedicated to the newsgathering trade, took first place in the Cultural Buildings category.

On March 10, chairman of the board and chief executive officer Marcel Dutil along with other representatives of Canam Group attended the topping out ceremony at the New Meadowlands Stadium, the future home of the New York Giants and Jets.

2008
On October 8, Mr. Luc Pelland announces that he will be relinquishing his responsibilities as Vice President, Purchasing, for Canam Group to assume the position of President of Structal-Heavy Steel Construction.

On July 31, Structal secures a CAN$12-million contract to fabricate and erect the structural steel frame for Edmonton Clinic North located in Edmonton, Alberta.

On July 7, Structal obtains a CAN$35-million contract for the construction of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ new arena located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The contract is for the fabrication and erection of the structural steel frame as well as for the shop drawings to be produced by Technyx.

In February, Structal wins a CAN$30-million contract for the construction of Red Bull Park, the future home of the New York Red Bulls, in Harrison, New Jersey. The contract is for the design-assist, fabrication and erection of the structural steel frame as well as for the shop drawings to be produced by Technyx.

2007
In October, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction obtains a CAN$23 million contract for the construction of Phase 1 of the recreational and commercial Lac Mirabel complex in Quebec. The contract is for the fabrication and erection of the structural steel frame as well as for the shop drawings to be produced by Technyx.

In March, Structal lands a CAN$100-million contract to fabricate and erect the steel structure for New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the new football stadium owned jointly by the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

2006
In September, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction secures a CAN$40-million contract for the construction of New Yankee Stadium. The new ballpark will be built in the Bronx in New York City. The contract is for the fabrication and erection of the structural steel frame as well as for the shop drawings to be produced by Technyx.

In July, Structal wins a CAN$70-million contract for the construction of Citi Field, the New York Mets’ new ballpark in Flushing, New York. The contract is for the fabrication and erection of the structural steel frame as well as for the shop drawings to be produced by Technyx.

In March, Structal lands a CAN$10-million contract to fabricate and erect the structural steel frame for Toronto Life Square, a retail, office and entertainment complex in the city core of Toronto, Ontario.

In February, Structal obtains two contracts totaling CAN$38.5 million to fabricate and erect the structural steel frame for an entertainment and recreational complex featuring an indoor ski slope in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and for a 25-storey multi-residential complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the outskirts of Boston.

2005
In July, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction signed an agreement for the fabrication of a rapid deployment radiation oncology facility in England. The contract was awarded to RAD Technology LLC of Pembroke Pines in Florida, for their Portable Radiation Oncology Sytstem.

In March, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction announced that it obtained a US$12.5 million (CAN$15.6 million) contract for the fabrication and erection of the Newseum, an interactive museum dedicated to the newsgathering trade in Washington, DC.

2004
In April, following the adoption of a new strategic plan to restructure the operations of The Canam Manac Group into nine business units in the construction products sector, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction becomes the business unit of Canam Group specializing in heavy structural steel.

Obtains a contract for phase II of the terminal development project for the Lester B. Pearson International Airport in Toronto, Ontario, from Structal Walters, an equal partnership composed of Structal and Walters Inc., a steel fabricator located in Hamilton, Ontario.

Obtains a contract for the fabrication of steel components for a 28-story building, the Cira Centre, located in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

2002
Obtains a contract for the fabrication and erection of 7,500 tons of structural steel and 900,000 square feet of steel deck to be used in the construction of the Niagara Falls Casino/Gateway in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

2001
Obtains a contract for the engineering, fabrication and erection of 13,500 tons of structural steel for the Eagles’ Stadium (Lincoln Financial Field) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

2000
Obtains a contract for the fabrication and erection of 28,000 tons of structural steel for the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center - one of the biggest contracts for structural steel awarded in the United States.

Obtains a contract for the fabrication of structural steel and stadium riser supports and the erection of the New England Patriots’ Stadium (CMGI Field) in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

Obtains a contract for the fabrication and erection of the steel components to be used in the construction of the new Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport.

1998
Acquisition of all the shares in Structal Inc. by The Canam Manac Group.

1996
Acquisition of 45% of the shares in Structal Inc. by The Canam Manac Group. This plant, located in Quebec City, is now one of two Quebec-based plants (the other being the Saint-Gédéon-de-Beauce plant) dedicated to the fabrication of heavy structural steel components.

1960
Founding of Canam Steel Works in Saint-Gédéon, Quebec. Production would begin one year later.
