Recreational megacomplex in New JerseyStructal has erected almost 75% of the structural steel it fabricated for the Xanadu project

The erection of the Meadowlands Xanadu recreational complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is making good progress. To date, Structal-Heavy Steel Construction, a key player in the fabrication and erection process, has erected about 75 percent of the 6,800 tons of structural steel it fabricated for this project and expects to complete the work in September 2007.
The components for this large-scale project were fabricated at the St. Gédéon de Beauce, QC plant. The drawings were done by the Technyx teams in Brasov, Romania, and Kolkata, India, and checked and coordinated by the Technyx team in Boucherville.
Meadowlands Xanadu will feature a 780-foot-long ski slope with a total elevation of 110 feet, complete with real snow and chairlifts, for year-round indoor skiing. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2008.
Structal-Heavy Steel Construction won the contract to fabricate and erect the structural steel structure for this project from general contractor Turner Construction Company.
