Charles E. Smith project: Installation has begun

Work recently got underway on the site of the Charles E. Smith project, a 25-story multi-residential complex in Cambridge, on the outskirts of Boston. The contract for this multi-residential complex, which will contain residential units, office space, a retail store and a fitness center, was obtained by Structal-Heavy Steel Construction, a business unit of Canam Group.
The entire project was detailed from the offices of Technyx in Romania, with the drawings checked in St. Georges, Canada. Fabrication of the 4,800 tons of structural steel, which began in January at the Canam plant in St. Gédéon, is slated to last until September 2006.
The customer for this project is Suffolk Construction.
